Vintage German ceramic piggy bank, handcrafted and finished in Germany. Available in pink or blue, each pig features two distinct decorative styles: one side showcases delicate hand-painted floral accents, while the opposite side displays a colorful Alpine wildflower decal applied before sealing, a folk-art style popular in the late twentieth century.
Manufactured and decorated in Germany by Böckling, a family-owned German ceramics and giftware company founded in 1949 in Baden-Württemberg. The piggy banks were imported by a family-owned German import business, exact date unknown, and remained safely stored in warehouse inventory for decades - never sold at retail. Each piece still retains its original Böckling “Made in Germany” label, making it a wonderful example of authentic German giftware.
Edelweiss, Gentian and Alpenrose - each flower tells a story, symbolizing qualities such as love, happiness, and perseverance. Measuring approximately 3.5” long, 3” tall, and 2.5” wide, this charming little pig is perfectly sized for displaying on a shelf, dresser, desk, bookcase, or curio cabinet.
Condition: Vintage New Old Stock (NOS). Stored for decades in a German import warehouse and never previously owned or used by a retail customer. Excellent condition.
